This course is aimed at those who want to work as copyeditors and proofreaders, as freelancers or in-house. It is also aimed at those who want to copyedit their own work, or who want to use it as part of their skill set in the publishing and media industries.
If your work already involves editing and proofreading documents and publications, and you want to improve your skills, this is also the course for you.
After completing this course, you will be equipped to perform the role of in-house copyeditor, proofreader and brand style manager for your company, corporation or other organization. Furthermore, you will be in a position to complement your current work by working as a freelance copyeditor and proofreader, supplementing your income in the process.
If you choose to become a full-time, professional copyeditor, you could complement your work by doing other language-related work, since you will develop a high level of English language competency on this course. For example, you could complement your copyediting and proofreading practice with teaching English (TEFL, TELF, EAL, etc.), book indexing, and translation, among others, by acquiring these skills if you do not already possess them.
